Metsätieteen aikakauskirja – Everyone’s right to forest science.

Metsätieteen aikakauskirja is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific e-journal, which publishes original research articles, reviews and other forest- and forestry-related writings in the native languages of Finland. Metsätieteen aikakauskirja communicates new results of forest science and its practical implications to domestic audiences, including researchers, forestry practitioners, students and educators, and the media. The journal applies double-blind peer review. In its editorial policy, Metsätieteen aikakauskirja fosters scientific objectivity and trustworthiness, readability, and consistent terminology. Peer-reviewed articles in Metsätieteen aikakauskirja have the Label for peer-reviewed scholarly publications given by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. Metsätieteen aikakauskirja is committed to follow the Responsible conduct of research guidelines of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity.

The journal has no article processing charges: it is free for both authors and readers. With annual volumes without periodic issues, the journal publishes its articles immediately after they have passed the review, editing and typesetting. Each article receives a unique DOI-number, and archived contents are available since 1994 at www.metsatieteenaikakauskirja.fi.
